The hard drives aren't turning off.
Hi everyone, I've tried all possible solutions but my drive isn't starting to shut down properly. I'm running a home server on Windows 11. I've disabled almost everything, used winearo tweaker to remove Cortana and telemetry, and set the drives to spin down after 15 minutes. Only Emby and Parsec are active, which is fine for me since I don't want any streaming. The drives aren't indexed, so that's out too. Maintenance is scheduled weekly at 02:00. Anyone have any advice? I'm running out of ideas. Two of the drives are external and they do spin down when they're actually powered off, just rarely.
Windows components might sometimes access the HDD. I experience this too. The drive automatically slows down after five minutes, but it occasionally resumes briefly to read a small amount of data before stopping again after five minutes. Would slowing the spin-down time further affect this behavior?
