I've tried uninstalling the m.2 SSD to see if it was causing the issue but my hard drive isn't able to be accessed, it isn't showing its normal name either just Local disk (DSmile and when i attempt to format it it says I can't format it, then when I try to make a data pool with it the drive icon changes to one with a question mark next to it with only the name D:\ , it shows up in task manager and bios bit i just can't access it at all, when i tried doing data recovery it spit out txt files only that weren't readable. The drive-in question is an 8tb Seagate barracuda, boot drive is a 2.5 inch ssd and the m.2 is a 980 pro. it also shows up in device manager and ive tried seeing if there was something wrong with it there, but it says it is running properly

Execute Hard Disk Sentinel to gather details about the storage device. Seagate models are often criticized for poor durability and lifespan.

It appears the system is functioning but indicates an empty disk space.

your setup features a 2600x processor, 3070 L3Harris 16 GB memory at 3200 MHz, running on an MSI Tomahawk B450 Max with a B450 CPU. It was recently upgraded, and the M.2 slot came next—just before the CPU installation.

Ensure CSM isn't running in BIOS or legacy boot. 8TB drivers must be GPT-formatted, and older modes rely on MBR.

Searching for an optical drive? Adjust the drive letter to B: or Q:. Remember, make sure you back up your data beforehand. If you take the M.2 out, does it still read properly? Which letter corresponds to the M.2 device?

The issue involves a hard disk drive that I plan to initialize using GPT. I want to know the process and how it goes. Before installing the M.2, the drive worked fine, but after removal or installation, it still had problems. The M.2 slot was labeled C: before, but I should verify that again.
