and when i attempt to format it it says I can't format it, then when I try to make a data pool with it the drive icon changes to one with a question mark next to it with only the name D:\ , it shows up in task manager and bios bit i just can't access it at all, when i tried doing data recovery it spit out txt files only that weren't readable. The drive-in question is an 8tb Seagate barracuda, boot drive is a 2.5 inch ssd and the m.2 is a 980 pro. it also shows up in device manager and ive tried seeing if there was something wrong with it there, but it says it is running properly

Searching for an optical drive? Adjust the drive letter to B: or Q:. Remember, make sure you back up your data beforehand. If you take the M.2 out, does it still read properly? Which letter corresponds to the M.2 device?
The issue involves a hard disk drive that I plan to initialize using GPT. I want to know the process and how it goes. Before installing the M.2, the drive worked fine, but after removal or installation, it still had problems. The M.2 slot was labeled C: before, but I should verify that again.
Verified that BIOS operates in UEFI mode, the M.2 slot is labeled E: not C:.
one issue though is that i cannot back up the drive as i cant get access to its files at this moment
