When I power on my PC, it suddenly freezes and the HDD indicator on the tower shows a solid red light. Even when trying to boot into Windows Installer USB, the system freezes intermittently at the start menu or during installation, sometimes randomly. It doesn’t respond to any input from the mouse or keyboard. I have to restart to fix it, but then I’m back to the same issue.
Specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo E7500
4GB RAM
No dedicated GPU installed

-I will swap in the CMOS battery again
-ubuntu live is working but after some use it freezes (like the cursor doesn't move) even when I unplug and plug it back in, and the mouse light still isn't on. The hard drive was unplugged so I don't know what caused this issue.
-I ran a memory check before starting up into Linux and it reported no errors.

Hi,
I'm attempting to install Windows 7 on my PC and it freezes suddenly at any moment. The red hard drive indicator on the tower blinks normally, but once the PC freezes, the light ceases to blink and the system stops responding to the mouse or keyboard. Even after reinserting the mouse, the light remains off and I'm forced to shut down or restart the computer to resolve the issue.
I've also tried using a Live USB Linux installation, but the PC still freezes and requires a forced shutdown to function. Each of my three HDDs has been tested individually without any problems.
A memory test before booting into Linux showed no errors. I've excluded using USB dongles, pen drives, or other peripherals, yet the problem persists.
I'm uncertain whether the issue lies with the hard drive itself or the power supply unit. The PSU was changed a few days ago, but I'm unsure what to do next.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Specs: Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM, No graphics card.
