The Half-Life 3 campaign is now available!
Ok, I am just gonna come right out and say the title is completely bull. There is a Half-Life 3 campaign released. An Indiegogo campaign. Someone has created an Indiegogo campaign to advertise how many people want Half-Life 3. Basically,(if they raise the funds) they will be making vehicle billboards, tshirts, GabeN(wearing a "we want Half-Life 3 tshirt) figurines to leave on valve headquarters' doorstep, and an adwords campaign. The original source is here: http://www.pcgamer.com/half-life-3-press...0&ns_fee=0 The Indiegogo campaign is here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/we-want-half-life-3 As of posting this topic, they have raised $1,457 out of $150,000. I think it is stupid. But what do you think?
An outrageous notion. Certain people claim pre-ordering is ridiculous, while others argue crowdfunding is reckless. Many doubt the value of promoting a game before its release. How could anyone justify spending money on advertising a surprise title?
I don't see the value in this effort. It won't make a difference. Valve understands exactly how much people want Half-Life 3, but they'll release it whenever they feel like it, not when we ask or expect it. They don't follow the same approach as other developers—releasing games one after another because that's what consumers are used to. In my view, AAA games have become so poor because it's about churning out titles rather than creating something worthwhile. I'd rather wait for a better experience instead of settling for something mediocre. I hope this campaign doesn't succeed.
