I received a Gigabyte NVIDIA 1650 Super 4GB Windforce OC as a temporary fix for my 1060 6GB. I've encountered difficulties with overclocking the card, using Heaven Benchmark to adjust settings. The base card appears here:

In my current setup, I modified only the target temperature and kept the GPU cooler at 100%. I attempted to overclock the card by setting the GPU Boost to +150 and the Memory Clock to +1000. Heaven Benchmark ran smoothly without any problems, producing a stable result.

When playing games such as Destiny 2, everything functioned well. However, with AC Origins—where the card reaches full capacity at 99%—the PC would suddenly shut down and restart after a short time. This clearly points to the card itself being the issue. I disabled overclocking on the card and played for about an hour to check for any crashes or artefacts.

I adjusted the Memory Clock to +500 while keeping the GPU Boost at +150, which resolved the problem with Heaven Benchmark without further issues. The same went for AC Origins; after some time, no artefacts appeared, and the game ended cleanly.

So I decided to try a different overclocking approach and see how it holds. I increased the settings to +100 and +200, which is significantly lower than my previous OC settings for the 1060. Still, I’m unsure why this doesn’t work. I tried AC Origins again and experienced a crash after about 30 minutes. Now I’m considering giving up on overclocking altogether and just continuing the game.

It’s puzzling because my previous Gigabyte card worked well with overclocking, but this one seems to reject any changes. Heaven Benchmark runs smoothly at 1080p with ultra settings, showing no artefacts or stutters. Yet, games like Origins—designed to push the card to full capacity—seem to trigger a crash and restart immediately.

This is the current list of my system specs:
Corsair CX650M
ASUS Prime Z370 Prime A-II
Intel 8700K at 4.7GHz
G.Skill 3600MHz CL16 2x8

I’m confused about why this happens. The 1060 I owned before was a Gigabyte model and overclocked easily without problems, but the 1650 Super just doesn’t respond well to my adjustments. Could the AORUS Engine App be causing issues? If so, it might prevent Heaven Benchmark from running properly. Should I abandon relying solely on manufacturer-made software and switch to Afterburner like others do? Any advice would be appreciated!

Basic binned chip, lacks an OC room. You're being quite forceful in trying to input 150 and 1000 randomly. Just use it as it is.

Is there a cause for the crashes in games without full GPU usage? Could the problem lie with the workload? Even so, I managed to resolve it by lowering settings to 100 or 200, using a card that supports overclocking.
