A few days back my GPU ceased showing VGA entirely. Initially I assumed it was a driver problem, then considered physical limitations. The cables seem intact and undamaged. Recently, my main monitor—connected via HDMI with a VGA port—also stopped working when I plugged it into the VGA cable. This suggests the GPU is refusing to display VGA fonts. Edit 1: I’m using a generic Displayport to VGA adapter for my older monitor, which functioned properly until recently. The main monitor is an Asus VP228 (model 2025-01-30).
I'm working with a generic DisplayPort to VGA adapter. It functioned properly with one monitor, while the other CRT display didn't work well. Now neither is showing any images. I connected the main monitor directly via HDMI and it works as long as the computer is powered on. When I first started it, the GPU automatically switched to the VGA monitor during startup, but the Asus monitor failed to turn on. I'm confused about why this happens, especially since there was no issue until it stopped displaying images.
