Hello everyone.
I’m facing a rather unusual problem with my brand new setup:
My GPU isn’t recognized by the computer until I perform a CMOS reset. After that, everything functions perfectly and performance is excellent. However, once I power down the system, the next boot fails completely—no video at all.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
- Changed PCI port (works on every boot, but caused microfreezes)
- Updated BIOS to the latest version
- Reinstalled all drivers
- Performed a Windows update
- Reinstalled the OS
- Tested another GPU (1650 works fine)
- Tested my 4070 Ti on a different PC (also works)
I’m still confused about what’s happening. Thanks in advance for your help!
Clearing CMOS indicates that the system operates with default configurations, allowing the GPU to function. When changes occur during use, they remain in the settings, leading to video or GPU issues until the CMOS is reset again. It seems an application or utility might be initiated at startup or triggered by another event while the computer is running. It’s possible that clearing CMOS isn’t necessary and another adjustment could achieve the same result. Check Task Manager under Startup and Task Scheduler for any unexpected processes.

Proceed to the physically marked page 30 in the manual to confirm the correct CMOS clearing procedure.
Ensure BIOS updates are saved permanently.
