My rog strix 3070 behaves like a jet regardless of MSI Afterburner settings unless you lower the power to 68%. I can assemble PCs but seem unable to fix issues. Some videos seem useful but lack clear explanations or solutions. Adjusting fan curves didn’t help much—at 70% power and a max temp of 75°C, fans still ran at full speed even when set for 70-80%. I experimented with Evga Precision, but MSI Afterburner feels more intuitive. My cable setup provides enough airflow. I want performance without fans spinning nonstop; keeping RPM between 60% and 75% would be ideal. Any advice would be greatly appreciated since I’m unsure how to proceed.

Even with a fixed fan speed in MSI Afterburner at 60%, the sounds resemble a jet engine. It seems the card might be overheating.

You're asking if I got the meaning right. You want to verify changes in Afterburner, check GPU temperatures and fan speeds at full load, and see if undervolting was tried. You also asked for a screenshot showing the fan curve.

I confirmed the application. Now I’m checking if there’s a method to exceed 68% efficiency with ideal fan settings. It feels like investing heavily in a GPU only to limit its performance, making it barely usable.

I’m wondering if I’m missing something or if I just have to deal with it. And I didn’t clear this up before but it’s not 100% fans speed all the time. If I go into msi afterburner and set everything to default and apply the default fan curve it thermal throttles I think is the word so when I set it to 68% power and max temp of 72 it works and sounds good. Just looking to get more performance with same noise level. But I’m thinking that’s not possible
