I’m experiencing sudden problems with my 1660 Super lately—jitter and frame drops in games that used to run smoothly. I’ve installed the newest Nvidia drivers and restarted the system, but the issue persists. Could you suggest possible causes and solutions?

In the worst scenario, the GPU might fail unexpectedly due to hardware issues. Consider recent downloads or activities over the last few days. Were you visiting restricted websites? Did you install any new malware or viruses? Have there been any updates to your system or software, including games? You could try reinstalling drivers from scratch, performing a fresh Windows installation, or moving your games/data to another drive for less hassle.

Only Steam and Gamepass have been used, with no suspicious websites encountered.

When you switch tabs away from your game and open Task Manager, are there other processes using a lot of resources? It seems like something might be slowing things down. I’ve only experienced GPU issues causing artifacts or complete failure without any performance drop, but that’s my situation—things can go wrong unexpectedly.
