The GPU has stopped working.
Hello, I've faced a similar issue with my GPU and would appreciate your advice. The problem started when the screen went completely black during a game, though the game continued smoothly—no freezing, teammates were still responding. Pressing Ctrl+Alt+End stopped the audio, so I thought it worked fine. Later, three possibilities came to mind: the GPU failed, the monitor died, or the PCI slot stopped unexpectedly. After rebooting, the monitor displayed its logo, which ruled out a monitor failure. Once I swapped out the GPU for a DP to MB output, the display worked without issues. After installing an old Nvidia GPU in the PCI slot, video output appeared. This suggests the original GPU is likely defective. Are there steps I can take to confirm its failure before buying a replacement? Thanks for your help!

It seems like a power issue involving the GPU. You should check if it smells like something is burning—this depends on your location, as there are many specialists handling GPU repairs. Whether it’s worth fixing it or replacing it depends on the situation; it’s possible to salvage the GPU if the core is damaged. The main concern is whether the repair cost justifies getting a new one. In the US, Northwest Repair is a good choice because they focus on GPU services.
