I've recently replaced the PSU in my PC to a 500W one and fitted in an old GTX 460 Cyclone it seemed to be working perfectly fine until randomly after exactly 50 minutes it turns off and leaves the screen black with the mouse duplicating like when graphics drivers fail. i thought this problem could have occurred due to overheating but msi afterburner reported 27C when it shut down, I currently don't have a replacement GPU so I'm hoping its a software problem as I don't know what would cause this problem to occur so perfectly at 50m? Extra info: Gpu uses a 6 pin and a (2 Molex to 6 pin) adapter Proc: i5 6600K 16 GB ram This PC is pretty old its a prebuilt from a few years back so I'm not sure if everything is in perfect quality Im currently using Game Ready Driver 391.35 as its the latest driver I could find for the gtx460 I've attached a screen shot where I was screen sharing to my phone as the previously mentioned cursor duplication and black screen is not seen on the montier with it just showing no signal. How I fix.

Welcome to the forums! Are there any issues with the event viewer? Does it stop working at exactly 50 minutes whether the system is under heavy load (like running a large file) or idle? With such outdated and unsupported hardware, it's probably not fixable with current tools, but I'm willing to try.

It fails when under heavy usage (Fortnite) and performs poorly in idle mode (search online).

Assuming you're using Windows 10, I'll review Event Viewer for any error logs when it fails. Also, I'll check the temperatures with HWMonitor. Regarding crashes, I'll look into whether it boots normally in BIOS versus a Linux Live USB.

Check the system settings in the Event Viewer to find relevant details.

Yep, seems like the NV controller is having issues. The card might be old—15 years and all—and the driver could be outdated, possibly from 2018. It’s possible a bug in Windows is affecting it. You might try resetting the NV drivers to see if the standard PNP display driver helps. In the end, you won’t get much speed improvement. Even a 12th-gen integrated graphics card would outperform this, and AMD’s higher-end chips would be better. This issue probably isn’t meant for serious gaming performance.

It's a very affordable machine that handles Fortnite smoothly at 90fps. It's great because I received it for free. Right now, I'm performing a fresh installation of the Nvidia drivers.
