I encountered an unusual issue during my ten years in the IT field. My system uses an ASUS DUAL RX 5500 XT EVO OC with 8GB RAM. I've installed the GPU on several computers without success, and the problem persists regardless of driver updates or whether drivers are present. Even after updating the GPU BIOS, it didn't help. I haven't attempted to run Windows 7, 11, or Linux with the GPU enabled. When I power on the PC, the BIOS loads normally, but when Windows attempts to boot, it freezes at the spinning dots in the bottom. The only solution is to restart the computer using the power button, which takes 4 to 8 restarts until Windows finally starts, after which everything functions properly—until I restart or shut down, requiring a complete reset. I’m struggling to understand what’s wrong with the GPU and can’t find similar issues online. The PSU in my machines is robust enough across all setups. My PC specs include: i7 9700/z370/32GB SSD/600W; R7 2700/b450/16GB SSD/650W; FX6300/MSA97/8GB/256GB SSD/750W.

It seems the GPU might be faulty, possibly due to transistor problems. Have you checked the GPU and examined the PCB?

This would have been my assumption as well, though I wasn't entirely sure. However, it seems PCIe 3.0 should work with the standard bus.
