I use Chrome on my PC, phone, and tablet without any problems. When I forget a password, I can easily find it in the Password Manager. It auto-fills when using Chrome, but on my tablet with a Facebook app instead of a website, I have to copy and paste the password manually.

Today, on my tablet, the Password Manager isn’t loading. The small icon appears, spins a few times, then stops. After a while (about a minute or more), it usually displays “Google Play Services not working” before closing.

I tried clearing the cache, uninstalling updates, reinstalling, and restarting. Eventually, I decided to do a factory reset because nothing was being lost. The same problem occurred again.

Do you have any suggestions? It might just be that the last update isn’t compatible with my setup. My tablet is a Lenovo YogaTab3 10", but they stopped OS updates years ago and left me with a very old version of 7.x. I’ve been using Lineage OS for three years now, and it’s running smoothly. I also installed Lineage 18.1xxx with Android 11.

I found some discussions online, but all the answers say the same thing—Google locks everything and doesn’t provide a solution.

what iv learned on pc and other devices should include an app for managing all passwords. I use nordpass, which is quite secure. chrome or other password managers are not safe because hackers can access your key logs and passwords. i would suggest using nordpass instead.

Well... the suggestions were helpful in general but not specifically for this case.
Interestingly, even after clearing the cache, performing a factory reset, and reinstalling everything, it didn't work until I cleared all data for Google Play Services. I'm not sure why or how that resolved it, but it seems a factory reset might have missed some files. That worked, though.

NordPass is usually around $3 per month, which is still quite expensive for me. I've found many free alternatives, but they often only work on one device unless you pay. I need it for my PC, laptop, phone, and tablet.
