The gaming laptop sometimes freezes and makes a buzzing sound while using audio and games?
Laptop: Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 8
Specs
CPU: Intel Core i9-13900HX
GPU: RTX 4080
RAM: 32 GB (2 x 16GB) Crucial DDR5 5600 MHz
Wi-Fi: Killer Wi-Fi 7 BE1750X
OS: Windows 11 Home 24H2
Recent problems include random freezes and buzzing during audio playback or gaming. These events last less than a second but happen frequently. I previously adjusted the GPU voltage and overclocked it, suspecting that might be the cause. However, Lenovo's hardware scan shows everything is normal. The issue persists even after resetting the device and cleaning the RAM with isopropyl alcohol and cotton swabs. Anyone have suggestions on how to resolve this?
Don't mention the operating system you're using.
It doesn't seem like a hardware problem. If it were, you'd notice a more intense lock-up. It appears to be a hardware interrupt. Are you running the most recent BIOS for your laptop?
I managed to perform a factory reset on my laptop, but the problem persists.
Factory resets aren't effective. Instead, back up all essential data and install the OS using a bootable USB drive, preferably in offline mode. During this process, install all necessary drivers with elevated privileges—right-click the installer and select Run as Administrator.
I attempted to clean the RAM using isopropyl alcohol and cotton swabs, but the issue remains.
You only need an eraser to remove dirt from the gold contacts on the RAM sticks. Wipe away any residue, then reinsert one stick at a time, testing each one carefully for any issues.
I'm using Windows 11 Home 24H2 with the latest BIOS from Lenovo (BIOS Utility Update - 11). I plan to use the eraser method on the RAM before reinstalling the OS through a USB drive.
