I own a gaming computer — I can't identify its brand or model — that just failed to power up. It makes no sound and there are no lights coming on at all. It was functioning yesterday, and the only action I took was moving it. No lightning hit it, but it's behaving completely dead, as if it never existed.
Do you have sufficient knowledge about the connectors in your power supply and general PC builds to safely disconnect it and inspect it? If you're comfortable reading a meter's pin configuration, basic checks are straightforward. Many affordable "testers" exist that can confirm whether the rails deliver the expected power. The more affordable models often don't apply any load to the PSU, making them less ideal for testing. Using automotive headlights is one of the few practical alternatives, though it's not the most common approach. How long has your PC been in use and how dust-free has it remained?
I used a multimeter on the AC plug connected to the motherboard to check for voltage. I’m checking if the issue lies with the switch or the motherboard itself. I tried removing the AC plug from the power supply and connecting directly to the wall using an AC cord, but it didn’t make a difference. There’s no obvious dust or blown capacitors visible on the board. The motherboard is an MPZ6901 Edge model. I’m looking for either the switch or a compatible gaming case with the switch, so I can replace the existing board and fix the problem. Anyone have links to these items?
