My frame rate stays steady with no fluctuations. The timing remains stable and there are no noticeable spikes. The games run smoothly even during rapid mouse movements, avoiding stuttering.
Make sure Gsync functions properly, perhaps testing with another game as well. Some titles and drivers seem to have problems with Gsync, which makes it hard to rule out its failure. It’s unclear why the OSD displays adaptive refresh rate changes, but it seems to work normally when VSync is enabled. For Tekken, the issue was very inconsistent and caused a jumpy experience. Using VSync over HDMI resolved it completely. In retrospect, Gsync might not have been working correctly. You could try adjusting resolution—like using DSR—or enabling motion blur if applicable. Play for a while and then revert if needed. These two factors appear to be the main contributors to the problem.
Hey, thanks for posting again. I know the G-Sync kind of is working because I too have a showing Hz on my monitor, without G-Sync it stays table 144hz but with G-Sync it matches the FPS, if the FPS is below 144 then it will lower the Hz of the monitor. I tried playing on HDMI and Displayport but its still the same. I'm now still using the Displayport cable which I got from the monitor and the HDMI for my 2nd monitor. I'll try with the resolution and the motion blur to see if it will help somehow, thanks.
You’ve optimized your Gsync/Vsync settings in NVIDIA Control Panel. Your monitor shows GSYNC with a stable frequency. Frame times remain consistent without noticeable drops. Input devices appear unaffected and storage/RAM are sufficient. The problem seems to stem from the display itself. Likely a faulty cable or monitor. You might also be more sensitive to frame time variations. If I were you, I’d switch to a different DisplayPort cable—HDMI isn’t ideal for Gsync.
I believe the optimal approach right now is inspecting the cables; I plan to purchase a new one soon. Should I focus on specific brands or just any DP cable? Also, the pros tend to be more affected by frame time, yet they still offer smooth gameplay. Probably because they have top-tier equipment, though I'm not sure. I'll test with this cable and let you know my thoughts later.
I recently purchased a new DP cable and noticed no changes. I’m struggling to find a solution to the issue. Regarding RAM, could it be affecting performance in ways that make games feel sluggish—like stuttering, freezing, or dropping FPS? It seems more like a smooth 144Hz experience rather than any noticeable lag.
I encountered the same issue on my laptop running an i7-8750hH with GTX-1070. It's connected to a 75Hz monitor, but I'm still facing stability problems with FPS and frame time. No thermal throttling has been reported, yet the experience remains choppy. My desktop setup uses a Ryzen 5 1400 and RX 580, which delivers smooth gaming on the same monitor. After testing numerous configurations, I feel like I've exhausted all options.
