I recently upgraded my CPU from a Ryzen 5 3600x to a Ryzen 9 5900x and since then my games have started to stutter almost every other second. I checked Task Manager and saw my GPU usage fluctuating wildly between 10% and 100%, even during older titles like COD BO3. I tried adding more RAM (from 32 to 64 gigabytes) and upgraded my power supply to 650W to 1000W, but the problem persists. Here are my system details if you need them.

update the bios details for your motherboard
monitor cpu temperature during gameplay
perform a complete removal of all processors via device manager and then restart the system. avoid shutting it down completely.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
I upgraded my CPU from a Ryzen 5 3600x to a Ryzen 9 5900x.
First, I wouldn’t have made the change if I were still using that motherboard. Your board doesn’t have any cooling for the VRM area.
Motherboard: Gigabyte B550M K
Next, could you tell me your BIOS version and whether you updated it before installing the new processor?
A high-wattage power supply (650W to 1000W)
Third, what is the model of the high-wattage PSU?
RAM: 64 gigs DDR4
I added extra RAM (from 32 to 64 now).
Please share a link to the RAM kit you used. If you’re using Corsair RAM, let me know the PCB revisions.
You didn’t mention how you’re keeping the processor cool, so details about your case, fan count, and orientation are missing.
Moved this thread from the Graphics cards section to the Systems section.
