I recently assembled a new machine equipped with two sticks of RGB RAM from Corsair, managed via their iCue application. The issue arises when the RAM is controlled through iCue: it becomes significantly sluggish, eventually freezing. When iCue displays a red triangle with the error message “iCue has stopped receiving data from dram, please restart or power cycle your system to fix this problem,” the RAM stays stuck in that state until I reboot the computer. Even after restarting, iCue no longer appears in the interface. This is my first Windows installation, and I haven’t used any other RGB control software that might conflict with iCue. The only monitoring tools installed are HWiNFO, which I doubt affects iCue performance if not launched. I’ve adjusted a few BIOS settings—enabled XMP and set DRAM Frequency to 6000, Memory Context Restore to enabled—but still faced the same problem. Even when I turned them off, the issue persisted. I also tested using only one RAM stick, but it didn’t resolve the problem. Anyone have any BIOS recommendations or additional tips for resolving this? Here are some details:
- Model: MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI ATX AM5
- RAM: 2 x 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB
- CPU: Ryzen 9 7900X
- GPU: GeForce RTX 4070 Ti
- Motherboard: Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus 2 TB
- Case: Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE LCD
- Power: 850 W, 80+ Gold
- Video: Corsair iCUE 4000D RGB AIRFLOW
- File: Problem.mp4

It's not very clear whether changing nothing in the BIOS affects the issue. Many people think tweaking random settings could cause problems, but it's hard to say for sure right now. As for updates, have you checked if the BIOS and chipset drivers are up to date? Also, confirm the exact version of the Icue software installed. Possible fixes include using openRGB, removing Icue, purchasing a new RAM module, or even replacing the motherboard.
