A year ago I faced frequent game crashes, but adjusting the GPU and VRAM helped a bit. The issues varied—some games would freeze, others would crash with error messages about graphics drivers needing updates. After updating to Windows 11, crashes stopped completely. Once again, after a month back in gaming, problems returned with similar signs, including DXGI ERROR DEVICE HUNG. More demanding titles caused faster crashes. Over time, the interruptions have increased, making it hard to play even briefly. The system remains stable otherwise, but I haven’t seen any visual glitches. My hardware is two years old and includes a Ryzen 5 3500X, a GTX 1660 Super, and several high-end components.

Explored a few hardware adjustments. Some sites recommend disabling anti-aliasing and turning off ShadowPlay. A registry fix appears to be mentioned across multiple sources. If you're running DirectX 11 and the game supports DX9, does switching to that version improve performance? DXGI is used by DX10, 11, and 12, so it's possible there could be an issue only with DX9. I'm just guessing here.

The only program it uses is Minecraft, and I was unsure if it was just a graphics card issue. It seems to run on OpenGL. CS:GO typically lasts 2-4 minutes, but I want to test DX9. I plan to disable anti-aliasing and check if shadowplay works without overlay. For the registry fix, should I use a cleaning tool?

I installed an Rx 6700xt in the system, the crashes continued, but the displayed error suggests a driver timeout issue—could it be related to RAM?
