A few months back my computer stopped working. The warranty was gone, but my credit card company provided an extended warranty. After a short while, they mailed me a $750 check for repairs. Rather than replacing parts and taking the machine to a shop, I upgraded them myself for a lower cost—$730—I swapped it from a GTX 750Ti to a GTX 1070. Once assembled, my new setup let me enjoy many games (GTA V, The Witcher 3, Counter Strike, Just Cause 3, etc.) without issues. It performed well except for GTA V, which kept stuttering even with the same parts. The 750Ti consistently hit over 45 frames per second without any lag. Anyone know how to resolve this? Thanks ahead of time. Note: I didn’t perform a factory reset after rebuilding.
Did you monitor CPU and GPU activity during gameplay? Were you performing a fresh installation of the NVIDIA drivers after installing the new graphics card?
Wow, that's frustrating! I'm trying to figure out the typical frame rate during the stuttering. Can you give me an idea of what speed you usually experience?
Consider reducing certain parameters so the graphics card limits performance instead of the CPU.
Thank you for the update. The CPU usage is high, but your GPU status isn't clear yet.
Are you sure? I didn’t run into any problems with my old 980ti running the 4590 system.
High performance configuration at 2560x1080 resolution, solid 60 FPS with VSync enabled, maximizing system capabilities.
