The game isn't launching properly.
Payday 2 isn't launching properly. When I attempt to start it, a black screen appears and the game halts. Steam indicates it's active until it stops. After a full reinstall, the issue persists, but changing the resolution didn't resolve it. Anyone know what's going on or where to look for help? Thanks, Rick.
Occasionally files remain even after reinstalling the game. Check your PayDay 2 folder at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\PAYDAY 2. Look for a folder called Hoxhud and two DLL files named IPHLPAPI.dll and PD2APIDLL1.dll. Remove these three to confirm they’re gone.
I deleted all files from that folder and then reinstalled the game (moved it off your desktop first)
