I just changed some drivers and updated my computer's BIOS settings. After doing that, my system would sometimes lag and game frames would stutter heavily in certain titles. I've uninstalled and reinstalled all drivers, done a fresh Windows install, and reset the BIOS to its default values. I've also adjusted RAM timings, XMP, G-SYNC, and VSync, but my frame rate dropped back to the base monitor level. I'm not sure what's causing this issue. Please help me figure it out.
Check if the readings came from a stress test versus normal use. If you ran a benchmark, it’s likely the CPU was throttling due to heat.
I didn't run any benchmarks, but it wasn't idle either if it reached 72—it was due to the validity test. PS: Just completed a stress test using CPU-Z while cross-checking hardware data. The CPU temperature fluctuated between 86°C and 89°C. PPS. My biggest red flag came when LoL stuttered heavily.
I've taken out my graphics card and disabled the built-in graphics. The stuttering continues. I tried re-seating the GPU, but it didn't help. CMOS reset failed, BIOS flashing didn't work, and removing two RAM sticks reduced the stuttering slightly but it persists.
