The game is running smoothly after a restart. Need more help?
I just began using Call of Duty Warzone. When I first turned on my PC, everything worked perfectly at the highest settings—1440p with 140-180fps. But then it started to feel unstable; the frame rate dropped from 165hz to around 60hz. It’s like a noticeable jump in performance. After restarting, things seemed smoother for a short while, but then again became choppy. All system temperatures, CPU usage, and GPU stats looked normal, and I didn’t notice any FPS drops. I checked Task Manager for background programs, but found nothing unusual. I restarted my GPU and replaced it, updated drivers, reinstalled Windows, and even tried a new BIOS version. The issue still persists despite all these changes. My system specs are: Asus RTX 2080TI, Gigabyte Ultra x570, AMD Ryzen 9 3900X, New ASUS monitors, and a Seasonic Gold PSU. I’ve also used fresh cables and new peripherals. I’m really confused—this is my first PC setup, and it seems to work fine otherwise. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Initially the game launches perfectly without any issues. After playing a few sessions it begins to lag, with frame rates hovering between 150 and 200, making everything feel sluggish. This includes actions like aiming through a sniper scope or opening boxes, which become noticeably slow. Even simple tasks such as moving the mouse and exploring the environment are affected. Restarting resolves the issue temporarily, but problems reappear after a short while. This only occurs in Warzone; normal multiplayer remains smooth. The system specs are Asus Strix 2080 Ti i9-9900K Maximus XI Formula Trident Z 3600 with 32GB RAM and two monitors.
