The frame rate sits between 55-63 fps depending on graphics presets, ranging from low to ultra. I experimented with antialiasing adjustments, but nothing changed. In unlocked framerate vsync, it feels like the frame rate isn't connected directly to graphics settings or resolution at all. Anyone know what's going on?

Performance issue likely caused by DRM restrictions.

Boost the CPU performance first. Your 2600k performs similarly, yet lags noticeably in multithread metrics.

AC: Odyssey demands significant CPU power, which may point to a bottleneck in your processor. Many users with builds similar to yours report the same problem—typically using Ryzen 5 2600 or comparable CPUs. Consider trying some adjustments to ease the strain. You might boost performance by increasing the CPU overclock, prioritizing AC: Odyssey in Task Manager, and selecting High Performance under your power plan. Ensure you’re running the latest updates for your chipset and BIOS; the game’s graphics settings, especially clouds, can also be a bottleneck. Running at a capped 55 to 60 frames per second could help. If these steps don’t resolve the issue, upgrading your CPU might be necessary. Your current motherboard should support it with a BIOS update. The two recommended processors—Ryzen 5 3600 or Ryzen 7 3700X—should improve performance and stability for the game and future titles.

I started with a 16GB kit containing four 4GB DDR4 RAM sticks at 2666MHZ, but as you noted, I upgraded to an 8GB kit at 3200MHZ after hearing about the new Ryzen processors. This change seems to have affected my benchmark scores negatively compared to previous configurations. Is it accurate that the Ryzen 2600 is designed for 2666MHZ speeds? Regardless, the Ryzen 3600 is now available from Amazon UK. I purchased it at a reduced price of £152 and it should arrive this Saturday. I’ll update you once I see any improvements and compare the benchmark results. By the way, my BIOS was running outdated firmware; I updated it via USB and flashed the latest version. Although I initially risked damaging my motherboard, I’m relieved now that it’s no longer an issue. The update was completed in December 2019, so it should be compatible with the Ryzen 3600.
