The issue appears to be consistent across missions, causing the screen to black and the game to freeze. I exit using alt+tab and close the window. The problem seems widespread on Uplay, but none of my troubleshooting steps resolved it. I've tried restarting the game, checking files with administrator privileges, ensuring the save file isn't restricted, and reinstalling the game while keeping my saves. It keeps autosaving and blocks saving or quitting missions. At this point, I'm about 40% through the game. Any suggestions? Should I consider a fresh install?

I recall this was shared a long time ago, but I’m not sure why it keeps occurring when I save as well. It only began happening halfway through, and after five years, you’ve probably found a solution.
