Hi, I'm facing a serious problem with Rocket League. It crashes my PC every time I start the first game, causing the screen to go black, the machine to make loud noises and keep running until I press the power button for a long time. I've tried many fixes—reinstalling, clearing cache, running as admin, updating drivers, disabling audio drivers, using Steam, checking hardware in BIOS—but nothing works. My system handles 100% GPU usage (40-60%) without overheating, except during Spellbreak when it gets extremely hot. I've looked through the support page and still feel frustrated. Usually I get smooth 250 FPS in-game settings, but crashes occur even at lower settings. I only played on one monitor before, and the game ran well for weeks before last weekend. The issue started last Sunday night. My PC is a pre-built HP Pavilion Gaming TG-1815, and it's still capable of running the game.

Interesting situation. It might be a driver problem. Update the NVIDIA drivers first, and if it still doesn’t resolve, contact HP support. Also, you can review the MB BIOS for more details.

I've refreshed all the drivers, though I'm not very comfortable with computers. My dad handled the updates and did thorough BIOS tests on every part—everything passed. Luckily, I'm still within my 50-day return window if this issue persists. It feels strange because other games that are tougher on the system work fine, but RL doesn't (it's mainly why I got the PC).

On the first occurrence it spun for roughly twenty seconds before the screens went dark then came back on. Following that it kept whirring without stop until I turned it off again. The noise seems similar to a cooling process, but I’ve looked at temperatures with HWMonitor and Task Manager and they never got too high. While using Spellbreak the GPU and CPU stayed warmer than during the crashes on RL.

Launch the task manager, then restart the game using alt+tab to exit. If this fails, follow these steps: 1. Press Windows key + tab, 2. Move task manager to a new desktop, 3. In the details tab, locate rocket league and check its status as "running" or "not responding."
