Hello everyone. I haven't played Doom on my new PC before, but I thought it would be a good time to try it again. Just before Eternal releases. Sadly, I'm facing some issues. When I run it at 1920x1080 with OpenGL, I get around 144 FPS. Everything seems okay. At 2540x1440 with OpenGL, I'm stuck at about 60 FPS. And the game feels less responsive compared to when I played at 1080p with a 2540x1440 resolution using Vulkan. It's stuck at 144 FPS, which seems normal but it's not fun to play. I suspect there might be a lot of input lag. The game keeps saying it's running at 144 FPS even though it feels slower. Those tests were done with VSync enabled. Have anyone experienced this before? It really seems odd. The game claims it's playing at 1440p and 144 FPS, but it just doesn't work. I feel like I'm a beginner while everything seems fine at 1080p. Thanks to all of you.

You're seeing unusually high CPU frame times. Could you share your specifications so I can help?

The machine features an AMD Ryzen 7 3800X processor, Asrock X570 motherboard, gaming-oriented system with 4 RAM sticks and Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO memory modules. It includes a 32GB SSD, a 3600 MHz CL18 GPU, and the ZOTAC GeForce RTX 2070. Storage is powered by a Corsair MP600 drive, and it runs on Windows with Samsung 860Evo for gaming performance.

Yes, it was current about a month back. Uncertain if a new BIOS came out since then.

Check for the latest GPU drivers. It seems Nvidia cards need specific Vulkan drivers to function correctly. BIOS appears adequate since it isn't an outdated x570 model.

Reviewed the BIOS information on the Asrock website. The version seems recent or the previous one. It doesn’t appear to be outdated. I updated NVidia’s drivers this week, so they should be current. However, I’m not sure about the Vulkan driver and will verify it later!

If the latest Vulkan drivers aren't functioning, I recommend adjusting memory timings. Consider running Infinity Fabric alongside memory in a 1:1 setup (1800mhz memory and 1800mhz fabric). Accurate settings on 3rd Gen Ryzen processors are crucial.

Do you connect via HDMI or display port?
