I don't understand this! It seems Ubicrap has surpassed themselves with Unity and Far Cry 4. They're improving quite a bit in creating poor-quality code! LOL. I used afturburner/rivatuner to monitor CPU/GPU usage and frame rate while playing Far Cry 4. With my 1600x900p resolution, I can enable ultra settings except for AAA titles because of the blacked-out shadows issue in the game. Overall, I get around 54fps and an average of 44-50fps, never dropping below 34fps. Still, it lags when driving fast. I still use my old SATA 7200RPM Seagate Barracuda HDD since I don't want to pay for overpriced SSD drives. My tests showed normal read/write speeds, so it shouldn't be due to that. Anyone else facing the same issue? I'm planning to buy a R9 290 or GTX 970 eventually, but I have to wait at least another seven months to fit my budget. I won't buy an expensive GPU just to keep a game running above 50fps! Ubicrap should be held accountable for the questionable releases they're making. They're slowly releasing low-quality games and increasing PC requirements by at least 60% more than necessary. So far, they're getting away with it. This is unacceptable! And after they promised PC gamers better performance, it's like they hired Joseph Goebbels to represent them! No, we didn't downgrade the PC version of Watch Dogs. Oh, the files you found? Just a conspiracy theory! LOL, it's incredible they're lying now, even with solid evidence! This trend is harmful and needs to stop! Oh well, I still prefer Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Still can't get enough!

Despite the frustrating stuttering, I still enjoy the game I've played for over ten hours and only completed about 30%. The issues mainly appear during driving, aiming, and running, but developers plan to address them in an upcoming patch. For me, the FPS remains stable at around 55-60, though it can dip to 35 FPS in those specific moments.

According to what I understand, the stuttering issues might be resolved by turning off mipmaps. You could achieve this by modifying certain files. It seems Google might have addressed the problem, possibly changing the type of stutter. My data is from around the launch time.

It's because of the large page files, if you disable it for FarCry 4 it fixes it. Also, enable Triple buffering. I have an executable i use for disabling it, and it fixed not only serious fps drop in AC Unity, but this stuttering in FC4. It's just execute, add the executable of the game, and it's done. You can also do it manually: Enable: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\YOUREXENAMEHERE.exe] "UseLargePages"=dword:00000001 Disable: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\YOUREXENAMEHERE.exe] "UseLargePages"=dword:00000000 In YOUREXENAMEHERE.exe you should put fc4's name, FarCry4.exe i guess, go to the ubisoft folder and check it there.

You're asking about the Dword settings, specifically whether 32 or 64-bit is required and what happens if it's disabled. You're also curious about the shortcut for enabling or disabling it so you don't have to manually regedit each game. You want clarification on whether the fix works with the default settings or when it's disabled, and you appreciate the help.

Following the steps, I added -disablepagefilecheck to the shortcut. After games caused issues, I consulted a knowledgeable person and it resolved the problem. I don’t perform this myself; instead, I use an executable named LargePage_util—just include the game’s .exe file. For another approach, navigate to "My Documents," open "My Games," locate the Far Cry 4 folder, and find your profile.xml. Inside, adjust DisableLoadingMip0 to "1" and GPUMaxBufferedFrames to "1".

Already used the Mips, but after applying your new registry method I reverted it to the default. Defaulted again—still a minor stutter, but significantly improved over skipping your other fix. <-For quick readers, I’m glad texture quality returned to normal, thank you. (I’ll keep testing the Mips tweak with yours; it seems to be working well. I did the Mips adjustment before, but driving stutter remained, so I’ll investigate further.) I appreciate your effort in getting me back to normal performance.

I used only the first method and it worked. Keep in mind triple buffering is essential. It might be that both adjustments improve performance. Don’t forget to install the 1.04 update.
