Possibly, due to the current display settings, I’m experiencing sluggish performance?

Is your display linked using a DVI cable, or is it an older VGA connection?

This VGA to HDMI adapter works, but I’m repeating myself for the hundredth time: at this resolution, it feels sluggish.

A VGA-to-HDMI adapter is probably the source of this problem; it’s an active device transforming analog signals into digital ones. If your monitor possesses a DVI port, utilizing an HDMI-to-DVI cable would be beneficial. These cables are passive because they both operate using digital signals, potentially resulting in a slightly improved image and sufficient bandwidth for displaying graphics at higher frame rates and resolutions.

I typically use a 1280 by 1024 resolution, which has a 5:4 aspect ratio, but I'd like to switch to this one. (And it runs smoothly at 1280x1024.)
