My PC is rebooting when I play Tarkov, and it started happening recently – about three years into my playtime. It’s been fine with other demanding games like Modern Warfare and Witcher 3. I can usually play for a few hours before it reboots, sometimes 2-3, but occasionally only 1 hour. Interestingly, if I immediately open Tarkov after a reboot to load the map, it crashes seconds before entering, which makes me suspect a potential overheating issue – though my GPU (around 70°C) and CPU (around 36°C) temperatures seem normal when monitored with MSI Afterburner.
I’ve run stress tests using Furmark, OCCT, AIDA 64, and Heaven Benchmark 4.0, as well as Windows Memory Test, but the reboots persist. I also checked the Event Viewer, which logs “Kernel-Power 41 (63)” during these reboots.
The issue initially appeared when playing Darksiders Genesis, a game I no longer play. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled Tarkov and updated all drivers. My specs are: Intel Core i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980, 16GB RAM, and a 750W PSU.
The PSU's efficiency decreases with heat and over time. It might be best to try a different one, as this seems to be the likely cause of the issue.

Hey, I’m having the same issue with 2 different games and those games only: Mordhau and Men Of War Assault Squad 2. I play lots of other things like MK11, Forza 7, Dirt Rally 2, War Thunder, GTA 5 and a lot of other games with no issues at all but after 10-15 minutes of Mordhau or MOWAS 2 my PC reboots. I monitored my temperatures but everything’s cool, nothing overheats. Checked event viewer and after every reboot I get the Kernel - Power 41 thing. My setup: i5 4690K (non OC) GTX 970 16 GB Ram Corsair 750W PSU Windows 10 Did you find a fix for your problem? Have you tried a different PSU? I’m thinking it’s my PSU as well but I don’t understand why it only happens in those 2 games.
I’ve just placed an order for a new 750W PSU and am awaiting its arrival. I’ll let you know how it goes once I receive it.
Thank you for reaching out. I’m just researching potential upgrades and wondering if a new PSU would help with my situation.
I just upgraded to a new Gigabyte G750H with a 750W PSU, and that resolved the previous issue – so it appears my old power supply was faulty.
