I downloaded Skyrim for the weekend since it’s free, but it doesn’t launch properly. When I click play in Steam, it shows it’s running briefly, then says it’s syncing for a tiny moment before everything stops. Got any suggestions?

When downloading from Steam, always check the files. In your Library, right-click the game, choose "Properties," then click "Local Files" and select "Verify Integrity of Game Files." It may take a while but this is usually the best option. Edited September 9, 2017 by wolfboytech

I haven’t located any issues with the game files, but it’s still not functioning. Could you explore alternative solutions?

I'm mainly familiar with the CE version. Could a warm boot help with this problem?

It's a heating method, often used to warm up cars or vehicles.

Restart gently without powering off fully. (Apologies, should be simpler for networking help.)

I understand the basics of the equipment, but software is where I struggle more.

I discovered this thread on the Steam User Forums: http://steamcommunity.com/app/489830/dis...877856791/. Based on the content, consider reducing your system settings if possible. If that's not an option, you might need to manually adjust the settings in the directory. I can guide you through the process, though I haven't done it recently. Be aware that some users with limited memory have experienced crashes due to the minimum recommended settings.
