I noticed many experts experimenting with it, and I'm interested in understanding why everyone's talking about it. I think I'm enjoying it.

The claim suggests stretching changes the enemy model's width, making it simpler to hit. But in reality, your mouse becomes more responsive horizontally while being less sensitive vertically, which cancels out any benefit. You also miss a lot of side vision. Problems really pile up.

When you run a game with a lower resolution than your screen size, elements shift across other windows because they no longer fit the main display. Using windowed mode resolves this issue as the game's resolution no longer replaces the desktop.
