Remove the pin, return to entering the password. Log out, restart the computer, log back in and attempt to insert a new pin. Check if this resolves the issue. The pin might be damaged but still visible. Please share your findings.

Apologies for the delayed response. He attempted to revert to the password but continued facing issues. He ran various diagnostics such as memtest, prime95, and furmark, which confirmed the issue was with his GPU—a R9 390 that is beginning to fail. Thank you for your assistance!
