It's not unusual to put extra effort into fixing my computer, but I'm really confused right now. Previously, I had freesync (premium) enabled with Minecraft Java Edition—alongside sodium, shaders, and other mods—and it functioned well. I attempted to use AMD Adrenalin’s video encoder for recording, but that didn’t work. A factory reset helped restore functionality. Now freesync isn’t compatible with Minecraft anymore. I notice my monitor shows more ghosting at lower refresh rates. Freesync does reduce screen tearing somewhat but doesn’t eliminate it entirely. VSync paired with sodium is frustrating—it limits my FPS to around 80, whereas I could be achieving over 140. I’m not sure if resetting the Adrenalin software caused the issue, but it seems likely. I’ve tried enabling freesync globally or locally for the Java process, but it still doesn’t work. It works with other programs without problems. My mods haven’t been updated recently, and the last change before this issue started was my factory reset of AMD software. Let me know if you need more details.
