I started playing Valorant after a couple of days without much gaming and found my FPS consistently low, often around 200 or even dropping to 100. Before that, the game ran smoothly at 300-500 FPS on my i7-14700K and 5070. I tried running other games like Cod6 with maximum settings but got similar low numbers (~145) and Expedition 33, which had some dips during cutscenes or fights. Unlike Valorant, those other games didn’t maintain high FPS consistently. I suspect my GPU temperature might be a factor since it doesn’t overheat, but I’m not sure what else could be affecting performance. Any ideas on possible causes?

I would attempt to adjust the fan speed first. Otherwise, it could just be a Valorant issue.

I just opened the MSI software, selected the “fan tune,” and noticed my fans were very loud when idle. Then I switched them to PWM mode via BIOS. Hope someone has more tips!

Manipulating fancurves definitely impacts performance. In the 14th generation, there might be some degradation effects.

the cpu arrived recently, and i only changed the fans using "fan tune," but the temperature stayed the same.
