The file transfer causes the internet to crash.
i configured my old laptop as a file server, I think. it transfers slowly, so probably the hard drive read/write is the issue. yesterday i backed up a project that took 30 minutes during which i couldn't even watch youtube without buffering every two seconds. then i switched to another device and it took about five minutes to get an IP address, but the file transfer continued without stopping. this morning i played a game while downloading a 75mb video to my phone amd—it disconnected instantly, and after roughly ten seconds everything went offline. why does this happen? my internet speed might only be around 10mbps down and 2mbps up, but this should be the hardware limitation, not my isp.
When either device connects via WiFi, it might overload the router. Many routers lack sufficient power for high-speed WiFi and when their CPU reaches its limit, performance drops, leading to the problems you mentioned. If the device goes offline after a file transfer and takes time to reconnect, the router could be faulty or even stop working completely.
