Congratulations on your setup! I just moved mine to its own SSD in November. It’s been a smooth ride—just needed to reinstall it once. Still, I have to run the repair function after almost every update.

I saved it last week (received it for Christmas) and it required roughly 8 hours at 900 kb/s

I'm curious about the final size of the game. They're planning some optimization, but I wonder how much more they can shrink it to. Right now it's 20GB, which is just a tiny fraction—about one-thousandth—of all available content.

I believe it will be at least 100 GB. I received a 1 TB hard drive for Christmas, hoping it’s sufficient.

Textures aren't fully optimized yet. For a large open world like Rage, which originally had around 50GB of textures, the final game ended up using about 20GB. When discussing textures, you can spot those that don’t need high quality and might have been lower in earlier versions—around 50GB at launch, possibly reaching 200GB once the planet side is complete, depending on scale and number of planets. A useful example is World of Warcraft from its release to today.
