I'm using Windows 11 and FreeNAS version 11.3-U5. My files sometimes can't be copied to my computer from the NASbox unless I make a duplicate in the source folder first. I think "File.zip" is too long, but "File - copy.zip" works. I'm not sure if this is Windows 11 or FreeNas.

The confusion arises because File - copy.zip is technically a ZIP file, not a regular .zip. Its extension suggests it's a compressed archive, which can be longer due to compression overhead. This explains why the comparison doesn't match expectations.

I figured out the solution by creating duplicates of each subfolder on the Nas Box and removing the originals.

It seems you're wondering about the reason behind your continued use of FreeNAS. Four years is a significant amount of time!

I'm just like that—I haven't changed my BIOS. The chances of getting something better with the latest updates don't seem worth the risk.
