So ESO is loading at 54 mb/s. I notice the remaining data drops about 50 per second. It looks reasonable, but can that really happen? Steam usually caps users under 10 mb/s. I’m curious if anyone knows how this works. Are download speeds also managed by the servers you connect to, and if so, does everyone face similar limits?

You're getting fast speeds? Nice! Servers can cap your downloads sometimes. It might just be a slow window with few users online.

Steam has no restrictions. If given a chance, it would likely attempt to misuse a 1Gbps connection.

Speed is determined by your link and the amount sent by the server. Steam servers aren’t very quick since many users join and pull data from them. Also, what you see as Mb or MB can vary a lot.

You're certain about your speeds? It seems you perform better with downloads than with games on Steam.

He mentioned observing a reduction in download size at 50MB per second. It seems unlikely anyone would revert it to Mb unless specifically asked.

Based on the hour, demand, and other factors, I can easily exceed 7.2MB/s. In fact, most of my quickest uploads happen on Steam.

I hadn't noticed him using capital letters for the B, so I wasn't certain.
