Hi Michael,
I see you're trying to set up a dual boot between Windows 7 and 10 on your Thinkpad E520. When you disable drives in Device Manager that aren't part of the active OS, it helps prevent conflicts. However, since you can't disable the Windows 7 drive from Windows 10, you might need to adjust settings differently. Have you checked if the Windows 10 installation is properly recognized or if there are any restrictions in the boot configuration? Let me know how it goes!

It's possible the Windows 7 installation still references the older drive. I can show you a screenshot of the Drive Management interface to check the partitions.

It's probable that the installation method uses the bootloader area on the Windows 7 disk, which will launch both operating systems.
