Hey everyone, I just received this EVGA 1080ti SC2 Hybrid AIO as a second-hand item from my brother. After installing it, the temperature stayed around 90°C during idle. Initially, I thought the thermal paste was the problem, so I disassembled it, cleaned it up, reapplied the paste, and reinstalled. Now it’s climbing back up to that high temperature again. This makes me suspect there’s a faulty pump inside the AIO. I’m wondering if it’s possible to swap it out for an aftermarket alternative that works with broken units. I’m open to any suggestions, even if it means going for the basics. Right now, I’m considering a PCB riser and attaching a Noctua CPU cooler outside the case—it’s tight but functional. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Side notes: I’m still running a GTX 970, so even if this setup barely stays under the thermal limits and throttles, it would be a significant improvement. As per the guidelines here, my current specs are: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, Intel Core i5 @ 3.50GHz (Haswell 22nm), 24GB RAM, Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming motherboard, Optix MAG24C graphics, Intel HD Graphics 4600, NVIDIA GTX 970 (59°C), plus storage and SSD details. I’m ready to upgrade if it helps!

If it's really damaged you can simply install a reservoir, pump, cut the hoses and link everything together. Those with aio cards often do this since it's usually the only option available. Prices are generally around 80$.

I've encountered several problems with 1080ti AIO units. You can either purchase a replacement here: https://smile.amazon.com/NZXT-Kraken-G12...06ZYHRMYP/ Then locate a suitable AIO, NZXT provides recommended options. Only if op can supply the required heatsinks for the VRMs, RAM, and other components, along with many damaged cards from users who haven't done this.
