Hi, whenever I try to launch a virtual machine, I encounter this issue: Failed to load R0 module at E:\/VMMR0.r0. The path doesn't have leading double slashes, but the error persists even after reinstalling VirtualBox on my external drive.
Look for updates for Virtual Box. Avoid installing software in the root directory, or use the administrator prompt when launching the installer.
I downloaded the release from the virtual box site and placed it in a folder that isn't root.
You may also attempt placing it in the standard location, C:\Program Files\Oracle\ VirtualBox, and configure the default machine folder on the E: drive. Additionally, consider disabling the Windows Hypervisor-protected Code Integrity (HVCI) setting. To turn HVCI off, navigate to Start > Settings > Update & security > Windows Security > Device security > Core isolation details, disable Memory integrity, then restart your system.
