Hello! I have been having this issue since about April 2022, and as far as I know I've tried everything on the planet to fix this issue. It'd take a little too long to go into detail of everything I've done, but some basic things I have done are:
Reinstalling Windows,
Deleting the game,
Repairing files,
Opening in Administrator,
Rolling back drivers,
Updating drivers, ect.
There is another post on here that is similar to my case, but I didn't quite understand the solution. Basically, what happens is the game runs normally for maybe 5-20 minutes. And then it just freezes. Nothing else, only audio whilst the screen is stuck frozen in place. I suspect it may be a GPU issue, and that I should get a new one, but I want to make sure before buying one.
My computer should be able to run it, it just stopped running one day after years of working. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
Besides updating drivers, have you checked if your DirectX, Visual Studio C++, and Net Framework files were also updated? These are Resdist files that function together. Also, if the issue is due to a bad GPU, ensure you fully uninstall the previous driver using DDU in Safe Mode before installing the new one for the updated GPU. Otherwise, the old GPU's hardware ID might cause problems.
Additionally, these steps should be completed before making major changes like reinstalling the OS, as they are often necessary in such situations. Most often, a d3d error indicates a Resdist file that needs reinstalling or updating, usually related to Dx.
Hello, thank you for your message. I've already updated DirectX, but I'm having trouble with updating my NET files. My Visual Studio was updated, and it functioned for a short time—about five minutes.
Ensure both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions are installed in that sequence during the 2015 Visual Studio C++ redistribution.
Hello, I couldn't locate a 32 bit version of the 2015 Visual Studio C++. Also, installing NET didn't work because there wasn't enough memory, even though I was using only 39% in Task Manager. I'm not sure if that helps, but a few weeks before the game stopped working, my power went out during a thunderstorm while using the computer, which might have damaged something like the GPU. This is the only game that behaves this way.
It's quite straightforward, you can verify the NET Framework version by examining the update records in Windows Update or Programs and Features. If they appear outdated, you can download the newest or any you've overlooked here... The current release is 4.8.

Additionally, I advise against using your computer during thunderstorms. If necessary, connect it to a reliable surge protector and use a power supply with strong over-voltage and over-current protection. These measures significantly increase the likelihood of the system shutting down before any harm occurs.
