Hello, here are some of the problems I’m facing (listed in signature). When a game runs with YouTube open on one monitor and Discord on another, it becomes slow. This is normal since the GPU focuses on the game, but sometimes certain things just don’t load. For example, in Warframe I can watch YouTube smoothly, but Discord freezes instantly, causing the whole PC to freeze until I close the tab and reopen it. It’s slower but not completely stuck. Other apps run fine. I’ve also noticed this with Opera GX when opening a tab while playing a game—issues appear first when switching from 5700x to 5800x3d. In Siege, Ubisoft Hub freezes with animation stopping and only select elements responding, making it hard to click. Alt-tab restores some action but not everything. The fix seems to be using multiple tabs or restarting without overheating (CPU at 83°C max, GPU at 75°C). GPU usage is around 96%-99%, CPU at 23%. Except for these, the games still work perfectly. The only game with this strange freezing was R6 when opening Ubisoft Hub.
Just to confirm your understanding, you're wondering if the problem might stem from background applications slowing down the system or from incorrect CPU task prioritization. This seems related to your thoughts about performance issues. Apart from updating your BIOS and drivers, are your Windows updates current? Have you reviewed your power settings? Would a clean boot help determine if the issue lies with the OS, drivers, or background apps? Also, consider checking if the CPU cooler is properly seated—over-tightening can affect performance.
Absolutely, that's right. The Windows update is keeping the power profile stable since then, which helped improve my Cinebench scores. I'm not sure about the GPU yet—I haven't tried a clean boot. It seems like I might have adjusted it too much. My setup uses an AIO, so I had to turn it up until I reached the limit.
Minimal boot setup guide available. This method starts your system with only essential processes like safe mode while offering additional options. If the problem stops, it suggests a third-party application may be involved. If it continues, it points to OS, drivers, BIOS or hardware issues requiring further investigation. Consider reseating the CPU and checking for bent pins on the motherboard. A CMOS reset can also help as a precaution.
