I own a gaming laptop that has functioned exceptionally well for approximately five months. However, over the past month, my computer has intermittently experienced significant lag, dropping frame rates to 1-2 frames lasting from five seconds to one minute. This issue occurs both during and outside of gameplay. For example, while switching to a stronger Wi-Fi network to download a game, my computer’s performance dropped and remained low for approximately forty seconds. I have been unable to identify or resolve the problem as solutions primarily address in-game issues; however, mine manifests independently of gaming activities. My system specifications are: RTX 2070, i7-8750H, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB SSD, 1TB SSHD, and a 144Hz screen.

You can take two things from this: the single stick memory config, aka, single channel mode, will gimp performance in cpu heavy scenarios. Did you change anything in the past month? The 2070 wasn't even detected in the benchmark, so it ran off the cpu’s igpu instead. I’m going to assume you have a good internet connection? Bad connections can also give you…

I'm going to assume you have a good internet connection? Bad connections can also give you lousy fps due to latency.

Here’s the rewritten text:

“I haven't modified my computer in any way – it hasn't been damaged or altered. I’ve also set my NVIDIA settings to always utilize my GPU. Here’s a benchmark of my system: [Link to Userbenchmark]. Regarding internet performance, due to my work travel, my Wi-Fi connection can vary in quality, but this has never visibly impacted my frame rates, even on older, less powerful desktops.”

That's a physical limitation, so not really. The most you can do about it is to crank up the ultra settings to try to reduce the cpu load.
Cpu and gpu temps have been fine in game?
Not even Windows auto updates?
Just checking.
Only really an issue in games that require a constant connection.

I would bite the bullet and get another 16 gb of ram and check the bios to see if its up to date. There is of course a lot more you can do.
