I recently updated to a new version, but playing Dragon Age on HDD still took about a minute to load. Switching to SSD improved it to just five seconds. After two days, the loading times matched those on HDD. It’s strange since all my settings reset to defaults and Origin installed a new version. I searched many fixes online, but nothing worked. I then reinstalled DAI and Origin, but the load times actually got worse.
Let me see if I can clarify your setup. Are you currently using Windows 10 version 21H1? Please share what you've tried so far to avoid repeating the same steps. Also, could you tell me the make and model of your power supply unit and how old it is? I’d also like to try using DDU and reinstalling your GPU if the issue might be related to a driver.
For storage, are you using two devices—one SSD and one HDD? If so, could you describe their configuration in a screenshot of Disk Manager?
My PSU is a Corsair RM750X and my system is roughly a year old. I've checked other games like Fallout 4 and Days Gone, with load times around 10-20 seconds. I also have Star Wars Battlefront 2 in the same folder, and it takes about 30 seconds to load a match.
i don't know about your other games, but i understand why dragons age takes a long time to launch. since i have them all, i installed my steam client on a new pc and reinstalled everything. regarding the dragon age games, steam starts by launching the origin client, then connects to the server, and finally checks for updates before starting if none are available.
