The W10 files have been downloading continuously today and are now complete (5.97GB). Should I anticipate a prompt for an update soon?

(Note: I corrected the title to reflect the intended meaning.)

Not exactly, I have the folder on my C: drive, but I'm not sure if it's time for anything else to set up.

I’d just hold off. A few users are pushing too hard, which is leading to issues. The Get Windows 10 app will notify you once it’s available. It might help waiting 2–3 days before forcing it again.

The process involves downloading rather than installing.

I didn’t plan to push it hard, just need the update without triggering issues. Was there anything I overlooked?

You have the app installed, selected the update, and saved it in a folder on your C: drive with 2 GB of space. You're unsure when or how to proceed with the installation.

It will notify you when it's prepared, possibly taking a few days. You might want to wait and avoid forcing it unless you're sure. This helps prevent issues others are facing.

It's best to proceed with that action.
