Hi all,
I recently bought The division 2 but after about 40 minutes the game would freeze, become windowed, and crash. After that it stayed in the background but I can't close it due to an "access denied" error. Later on, the PC would freeze on the desktop or in a browser, sometimes getting stuck, and I have to hard reset it. Any solution?

PC specs:
- i5 8600k (no OC)
- GTX 1070
- 16 GB RAM
- z370 pro4
- Corsair TX550M
P.S. Sorry for my bad English

Is there an original copy available? Checking for a fresh installation of the newest drivers might resolve the issue.

I haven't updated the GPU yet, I've already attempted to reinstall the drivers but it hasn't worked.

Try using DDU, it will eliminate all display drivers except the standard Windows one, allowing a fresh installation of the correct drivers. Save them first and complete everything offline. If you start Windows while connected to the internet, it may attempt to install GPU-related drivers automatically, which doesn't always work well. If this doesn't resolve the issue, it likely isn't a problem with the GPU driver itself.

Also, do you have any background software running? I think Corsair's iCue might conflict with Div2, and other programs could cause similar issues.

I've tried using DDU to remove drivers and stopped everything in the background, but the issue persists.

Checked the verified game files and confirmed that Windows and all drivers are current.

Verify the memory details of your RAM and GPU for compatibility with any memtest tool, such as OpenCL 1.2.
If you managed to remove your hardware from consideration and also updated drivers, the issue likely isn't yours.
I've heard from friends that they also face problems with The Division 2, but their Rigs work well with most other titles like BF5.

I've tested using the Windows RAM analyzer, but it freezes at 10%. It might be due to having three RAM sticks on a dual-channel motherboard. Can I use a 4GB stick with an 8GB stick for dual channel at the same model and speed?

It's possible to achieve it, but I wouldn't suggest it because you won't experience dual-channel performance with those 4GB sticks on the 8GB drives. Make sure your chipset allows Flex Mode and that the RAM sticks match in terms of chips per side, rows, and columns.
