Think of it this way: Enthusiast (R9), i9 Mainstream (R7), i7 (R5), i5 (R3), i3 (i3). The nebulous zone between mainstream and budget is R3, i3. Budget options include Athlon APUs and Pentium. Most people need Raspberry Pi 4.
