Hey, I didn't know where to post this, maybe I can still get the help I want. I am encoding a video and my temps are pretty high, and saw on other forums that my CPU temps should be fine. Other videos have been encoded before, and I did not check the temps until this session. Only recently did I find out what MOS meant, but, I have not found anything on the safe temps for it. I have an MSI X470 Gaming Plus motherboard with a AMD Ryzen R7 2700X CPU my cooling method is a Corsair H100i V2 water cooler. Any info on temps and safe areas for the temps plus tips on the future would be greatly appreciated. I thank you for taking the time to read this. Thank you in advance for helping me.

Identify what process or task is consuming maximum CPU power, which is likely leading to overheating of components like MOSFETs and VRM due to the workload.

Consider enhancing air circulation in your setup and possibly installing a fan for the VRMs to maintain their temperature. A brief search indicates the recommended safe temperature is 175°C, though I’m unsure of its accuracy. Even if it’s suitable for the VRMs, it may not be ideal for nearby components.

Thank you, I’m looking forward to seeing if 100°C works. As mentioned, previous videos were already encoded, and I haven’t verified the temperatures yet. I’m confident that in the image I shared for my topic, the MOS location is well separated from other parts. Airflow seems to be optimized, and gaming temperatures stay low—usually under 57°C on my CPU.

The setup includes a Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 case with front intake fans from Corsair ML120 units and exhaust fans mounted on the H100i V2 radiator. The case has a stock fan at the rear. Current ambient temperature is around 75°F or 23°C. I'm mainly interested in the MOS temperature reading, which shows 100°C. Any further advice or information would be greatly appreciated.

Check the room temperature around you. It might be a bit warm.

Ambient room temp is 75f or 23c. Do you happen to know if there is any fan for that reason? I wouldn't mind using my Pump_Fan header to point an extra little fan at the MOS. Even if there are none known, I got a fan to use for your suggestion.

You're trying to modify the VRM cooler for better cooling, possibly by adding a fan or adjusting its design. This could significantly lower component temperatures and improve longevity.

It’s a smart method for attaching a fan that distributes air across the entire board, helping cool the CPU socket area as well. I like it!
